History of the practice
In 2009, hc solicitors LLP are celebrating the provision of legal services to the people and businesses of Peterborough for 75 years.
J Hunt solicitor was established in 1934 by Dr Jack Hunt and practiced from 34 Westgate, Peterborough. We moved to 35 Thorpe Road in 1961 as J Hunt and Co and amalgamated with Sherrard and Coombs (of Oundle) in 1979, becoming Hunt & Coombs. With an updated brand, new buildings and very modern technology we became hc solicitors LLP in July 2006.
Things have changed a little since we first began:
- We have grown to be one of the largest local law firms, employing just under 100 people.
- Our building has been extended and refurbished to provide modern, welcoming offices for our staff and visiting clients.
- We have installed a completely up-to-date IT and communications infrastructure.
- Our professional standards have been recognised with accreditations from LEXCEL, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Investors in People, Resolution, the Legal Services Commission and the Collaborative Family Law Group.
- We have made our fees easy to understand with a variety of payment methods available and fixed fees for some types of work.
However, although we are now a thoroughly modern firm, we still pride ourselves on the professionalism and friendliness of all our lawyers and support staff.
We still provide a full range of legal services to the whole community and aim to play a positive role in the community.
And we still offer first class legal advice and representation with lawyers you can trust.
