Driving Without Due Care

If you drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or public place, you may be guilty of an offence.

Failing to Stop After an Accident

If you are involved in an accident while driving a mechanically propelled vehicle which causes personal injury or damage to another person, animal, vehicle or property and you fail to stop or fail to give your details when asked, you may be guilty of an offence.

Failing to Report an Accident

If you are driving a mechanically propelled vehicle and you are involved in an accident which causes personal injury to another person and you haven't given your name and address at the scene, failing to report the accident to a police station or constable within 24 hours may result in you being guilty of an offence.

Offences involving Alcohol

You can be guilty of an offence if you fail to provide a roadside breath test, drive or attempt to drive with excess alcohol in your bloodstream, are in charge of a motor vehicle with excess alcohol or refuse to provide samples for analysis after the above.

You can be guilty of an offence if you drive a motor vehicle without insurance, tax, a valid MOT certificate or a driving licence.

Speeding or Exceeding the Speed Limit

There are 2 separate offences: exceeding the speed limit on a normal road and exceeding the speed limit on a motorway.
