European lawyers visit local firm

A group of European lawyers visited local firm, hc solicitors, recently for a conference of the collaborative legal organisation, Unilaw .
The Unilaw organisation is a group of lawyers from European countries who work together to give legal advice across borders to clients with interests abroad. Local firm, hc solicitors, have been a founding member of the organisation and hosted the annual conference this year at their Peterborough headquarters.
The visiting solicitors included Ignacio Menendez and Gillermo Velasco from Madrid, Georges P Mouchtouris and Severine Lavie from Lyon, Federico Vasoli and Patrizia Masi from Milan and Barbara Moner from Barcelona.
Lynne Ayres, Managing Director of hc solicitors, commented: “As a firm we have benefitted greatly from our membership of the organisation. Within the firm, we already have expertise in Spanish law and in European debt recovery but the lawyers in the group have been able to help us assist clients with business and private interests in other European countries. As founder members, we are working with the group on plans to grow and include representation from further afield.
Glynn Railton, Commercial solicitor at hc solicitors, added: ““As a result of our Unilaw membership, I have recently acted for clients, based in Vietnam, in the setting up of a company in England as part the clients’ longer term European strategy to purchase an Italian fashion brand.”
As part of the conference, the group visited Peterborough Cathedral for evensong and a reception at the Deanery and they are pictured here outside the Cathedral with the Dean, The Very Reverend Charles Taylor, at the end of the service.
