Hunt & Coombs sponsor Green Build Award won by Morris Homes

Hunt & Coombs were delighted to sponsor the Green Build/builders Award this year at the 2013 Green Awards organised by the Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) and the Peterborough Telegraph.

Individuals, groups and businesses who have created ideas, products or initiatives to benefit the environment around them were nominated for an award in a number of categories.

Hunt & Coombs sponsored the Green Build/builders award, won by Morris Homes who were nominated by Karen Lawrence. Their site at Vista on London Road has 255 eco-homes featuring rainwater harvesting, heat re-capture system, super insulation, solar heated water, triple glazing and more.

Runners up were Nene Park Trust & Lindum, and St Michael’s CofE Primary School, Cardea.

Andy Cave, Director at Hunt & Coombs presenting the award, commented,

“We are delighted to sponsor this award for a second year running and offer our congratulations once again to Morris Homes who certainly deserved recognition for their hard work. Being ‘green’ is something close to our hearts here at Hunt & Coombs. We have dedicated personnel who monitor our use of resources and strive to ensure that we continue our commitment to the environment and Peterborough’s goal to becoming Environment capital of the UK. I believe this coming year will see more businesses and organisations take an active role in Green issues and look forward to seeing what next year’s awards will bring”
