Law firm hosts Presidential visit

Peterborough law firm hc solicitors LLP have hosted a special visit from Fiona Woolf, the President of the Law Society of England and Wales.

Directors at the firm were delighted when the President accepted their invitation to visit Peterborough, as part of her programme of visits to selected law firms across the country, to achieve greater engagement with the legal profession and to improve and shape the response of the Law Society for its members and the public.

At a useful working lunch in the firm’s purpose-built conference suite, Directors in the different practice groups across the firm, along with the firm’s HR and IT managers, had an opportunity to discuss with the President her views on gaining competitive advantage for law firms of all shapes and sizes, against an increasing background of legislation and in an environment of competition from non-law firm agencies.

The firm, which has seen a doubling in size of its Personal Tax and Probate team over the last 2 years, and the growth by 25% of its residential property work in the last year, converted to a Limited Liability Partnership in 2006.

Lynne Ayres, added:
“We are delighted to have had a successful visit from the President in her busy schedule, which we hope has provided good exposure for Peterborough but has also given us a refreshing insight into the agenda and leadership of the Law Society.”
