Driving without Due Care
The Offence
If a person drives a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or public place, he is guilty of an offence.
| Term | Meaning |
| Public Place | Is any place where the public have open access on payment or otherwise. |
| Mechanically Propelled Vehicle | At its most basic level it is a vehicle which can be propelled by mechanical means. It can include both electrically and steam powered vehicles including mini scooters and go peds. |
Maximum Penalty
- Fine not exceeding £2,500
- Licence Endorsed with 3-9 Penalty points
- Court may disqualify for any period.
