Lynne Ayres LLB
Lynne is the Consultant at Hunt & Coombs who deals with practice compliance. She was educated at The Peterborough School and studied law at Bristol University and the London College of Law. She qualified in 1971.
She is a generalist lawyer having practised in many areas during her long association with Hunt & Coombs culminating in being the Senior & Managing Director until 2013.
Lynne's broad background of legal work enables her to offer assistance to many lawyers across the Practice and to advise on compliance. She deals with professional and regulatory matters, including assisting with client concerns and standards.
Lynne is very well known in the region and has a reputation for tenacity which is evidenced by her winning a landmark case in the House of Lords preserving the right of absolute privilege for all lawyers and their clients.
She is a Peterborough City Councillor for the West ward and she has a life long interest in education. She has been appointed the Cabinet Member for Education Skills and University and the Chairman of the Licensing Committee. She sits on the Corporate Parenting Committee for Children in Care.
She is Chairman of the Governors of The Peterborough School, Trustee of Peterborough Cathedral Trust, Trustee of the Peterborough Cancer Treatment Appeal and is an Executive Board Member and Corporate Fellow of Woodard Schools.
