Patents and Trademarks
Sometimes trading or conducting business requires the registration of patents and trademarks. Our team can advise on European Intellectual Property matters, with a particular focus on registering Europe-wide patents and trademarks within the European Community.
The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs), or OHIM, is based in Alicante, Spain, and deals with the Trademark and Industrial Designs Registry for the internal market of the European Union. It carries out the registration procedures for titles to Community intellectual property and keeps public registers of these titles. The responsibility for deciding whether or not to invalidate a registered title is shared between the OHIM and the courts in the Member States of the European Union.
We can deal with the judicial protection of your trademarks and patents within the European Union and specifically before the Spanish Tribunals, if anybody misuses your trademarks or your patents within Spanish territory.
