Our Employment Law for Employers Team includes the following people:

Paul Jackson

Paul is Head of our Employment team.  He read law at Cambridge University and trained at Clifford Chance LLP in the City of London, qualifying as a solicitor in 2001.   Before training as a solicitor, Paul had a decade’s experience in commerce which included work as an outplacement counsellor, and work in publishing and corporate finance. more»

Glynn originally studied Psychology/Biology at Oxford Brookes University and then worked for a multinational transport company before running his own data logistics company. more»

Catherine Sandbach

Catherine completed a degree in Law, specialising in European Legal Studies at the University of Durham. As part of this degree, she studied law in France for a year at the Université de Rouen in Normandy. more»

Paul is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.

Specifically, Paul can advise you on:

  • Employment contracts and applicable rules and procedures for employing staff and avoiding unlawful discrimination. 
  • Employment tribunal claims and dispute resolution including advice on the merits of your case, compromise agreements and tactical litigation. Paul can represent you in tribunal or instruct a barrister to represent you.

Glynn originally studied Psychology/Biology at Oxford Brookes University and then worked for a multinational transport company before running his own data logistics company.

Glynn completed his LLB at the University of Hertfordshire and then attended the College of Law in London the following year.

Glynn is a solicitor in the Commercial team dealing with the full range of Commercial Property and Company law.  He joined hc in September 2007 and deals with a varied portfolio of Commercial work.  Recent transactions include share purchases of an IFA company and garage business and completion of an international licensing agreement.  Glynn's experience in industry and in running his own business is invaluable in understanding the needs and concerns of our business clients.

Specifically, Glynn can advise on:

  • business disposals and acquisitions
  • advising businesses on company formations, commercial contracts and sale and supply of goods and services including terms and conditions
  • partnership and shareholder agreements
  • protecting IP, licensing IP rights and dealing with alleged infringements; dealing with IP issues of website content and electronic media
  • employment contracts and TUPE transfers
  • commercial property transactions including lease and sale and purchase transactions

Catherine completed a degree in Law, specialising in European Legal Studies at the University of Durham. As part of this degree, she studied law in France for a year at the Université de Rouen in Normandy.


After attending Nottingham Law School in 2006, Catherine joined hc in 2007 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 2009, joining the Dispute Resolution department to deal with a variety of civil and commercial litigation matters. Catherine also provides assistance to the Spanish Legal Services and Employment teams.

Specifically, Catherine can advise on:

  • Avoiding and recovering debt for businesses
  • Insolvency law – Catherine can advise you if you are thinking of entering into bankruptcy, or if your company can no longer pay the debts that it owes. Catherine can also provide advice about how to start insolvency proceedings, and what will happen when a person or company become insolvent.
  • European cases involving the recovery of cross-border debt – Catherine can help you to recover sums that are owed to you if there are no assets in the United Kingdom, but there are some elsewhere in the European Union.
  • Contract disputes – if you have paid for goods or services that you haven’t received, Catherine can advise you on the strength of your case and how best to move forward to claim damages or specific performances.
  • Disputes over inheritance and the validity of Wills – if there is a problem with a Will, or if you do not believe you have received the inheritance that you should have, Catherine can advise you on the strength of your case and how best to move forward to make a claim.
  • Employment law – Catherine provides assistance to the Employment team in relation to contentious matters.
