Hunt & Coombs Solicitors were delighted to host their own Coffee Morning today to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer, with only 50% of people surviving for 10 years or more. These statistics are shocking especially considering the impact that this disease has not just on the individual but also on their friends and family. Macmillan Cancer Support take the time to understand how best to support the individual in living their life to the fullest.
A massive thank you to everyone who baked or bought something delicious today, and congratulations to Farhana Butt for winning the partner’s bake-off! Our expert judges (and trainees), Ailsa Tennant, Joseph Stoehr and Rebecca Thomas, had a difficult task in determining the winner since all the sponges were showstoppers. However, the refreshing lemon and poppy seed is this year’s star bake and disappeared shortly after the judging concluded! To compliment these even bakes, we had Lavazza and Nespresso pod coffee on offer thanks to the generosity of our solicitors.
Since it began in 1990, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan. Today we managed to contribute a fantastic £221 to help those living with this disease. This will go towards providing specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
