We are delighted to share the results of our Investors in the Environment (IIE) accreditation audit carried out earlier in the year – we have been awarded the ‘Green’ level award again for the ninth year in a row.
When PECT first launched the Investors in the Environment (IIE) standard in 2010, we signed up straight away. As a business we wanted to minimise our impact on the environment and improve efficiency and this provided the opportunity to focus on environmental issues, get staff engaged and shout more about what we were doing. We were awarded our first ‘Green’ accreditation in 2012 and are very proud to have kept it since.
The IIE accreditation is awarded to organisations working towards high level targets following an official auditing process scrutinising documented performance. We were assessed against five key areas of their environmental management system and we are delighted to achieve the top level accreditation with a score of 92%!
We were praised for achieving all targets set last year; demonstrating an excellent level of staff engagement and communication; and collecting and using data to inform decisions and actions.
Senior Partner Anna Spriggs commented “We are very proud of our achievement. Being socially responsible is immensely important at Hunt & Coombs and is one of the firm’s core values – we support the local community, raise funds for local charities, are family friendly in our support for staff and look for ways to eliminate practices which are harmful to the environment.”
Carbon still exists and there is still a climate emergency, so how does Hunt & Coombs help? There have been some unprecedented changes happen since the coronavirus hit and we now have to work out what changes benefit the environment and how do we adapt?
Well done to all the staff at Hunt & Coombs who have made it possible to reduce waste and improve sustainability. We look forward to facing the challenges of next year.
