Necessary Cookies: Cookies which help make a website usable by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.

  1. PHPSESSID – Initiated by the Webserver it preserves user session state across page requests, expires at the end of the session.

Statistics Cookies: Cookies help website owners to understand how visitors interact with websites by collecting and reporting information anonymously.

  1. _utm.gif – Initiated by Google Analytics, a tracking code that logs details about the visitor’s browser and computer, expires at the end of the session.
  2. _utma – Initiated by Google Analytics, collects data on the number of times a user visits the website as well as the dates of the first and last visit, expires in 2 years.
  3. _utmb – Initiated by Google Analytics, registers a timestamp with the exact time of when the user accesses the website, expires at the end of the session.
  4. _utmc – Initiated by Google Analytics, registers a timestamp with the exact time of when the user leaves the website, expires at the end of the session.
  5. _utmt – Initiated by Google Analytics, used to throttle the speed of requests to the Google Analytics server, expires at the end of the session.
  6. _utmz – Initiated by Google Analytics, collects data on where the user came from, what search engine was used, what link was clicked and what search term was used, expires in 6 months.

Marketing Cookies: Cookies used to track visitors across the website for use in relevant display ads.

  1. _stid – Initiated by Share, regsiters a unique ID that identifies the user’s device for return visits expires in a year.
  2. ads/conversion/# – Initiated by Google, expires at the end of the session.
  3. ads/ga-audiences – Initiated by Google, Google AdWords uses it to re-engage visitors that are likely to convert to customers based on the visitor’s online behaviour across websites, expires at the end of the session.
  4. IDE – Initiated by Google, Google DoubleClick uses it to register and report the website user’s actions after viewing or clicking one of the advertiser’s ads with the purpose of measuring the efficiency of an ad and to present targeted ads to the user, expires in 2 years.
  5. test_cookie – Initiated by Google, Google DoubleClick uses to check if the user’s browser supports cookies. expires at the end of the session.

Unclassified Cookies: Cookies which are in the process of being classified together with providers of individual cookies.

  1. st_shares_# , currently unclassified, purpose unknown and it is persistent.
  2. sharethis_cookie_test_, currently unclassified, expires at the end of the session.

How to control cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish in your browser settings. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed.
