hc solicitors welcomes lucky anniversary prize winners

Local firm, hc solicitors, celebrated their 75th anniversary over the last 12 months with a range of activities designed to give something back to their clients and the local community. One of the most popular activities was a prize draw open to all clients and contacts which was drawn earlier this year.

The lucky winners were all clients of the firm who live in the Peterborough area. Mrs Annette Morton won a framed print, Fen Farms, by local landscape and wildlife artist Carry Ackroyd. Mrs Susan Graham won a bespoke piece of jewellery by local silversmith Barry Witmond who is based at Burghley House. Mr Elijah Stewart won a case of 12 bottles of champagne supplied by Anglia Regional Co-operative society (ARCS). ARCS have been a client of the firm's since its inception 75 years ago.
Mrs Graham and Mrs Morton attended the firm's offices in June for an afternoon tea party with their partners where their prizes were presented to them. Mr Stewart was sadly unable to join them as he was recuperating from an operation and his prize was delivered to him at home.
hc (formerly Hunt and Coombs) was founded in April 1934 by local solicitor Jack Hunt when he opened a practice in Westgate, Peterborough. Jack Hunt was a well-known local figure, being an alderman for many years with a special interest in education. Hence, the naming of Jack Hunt school which was named after him when it opened in 1970.
Lynne Ayres, Managing Director of hc solicitors, commented: 'This has been an exciting year for the firm which has provoked many happy memories from our past. I personally have been with the firm for over 40 years and was recruited by Jack Hunt who I remember well. We have been joined in celebrating our anniversary by our clients, professional contacts, local playgroups and charitable organisations, some of whom we have known as a firm for the whole of our lifetime. We hope to be able to continue to build on these relationships and forge many new ones over the next 75 years.'
