Background

Paralegals & Trainees

“The culture is not as one might expect from a solicitors’ practice. It is warm, friendly, nicely balanced between work and play, professional and an excellent example of an Investor in People” (Investors in People assessor feedback)

This quote sums up our working environment wonderfully and we actively seek to recruit individuals who will thrive in, and enhance, our unique culture. We are highly client centric and we work hard, but we work as a team, and keeping our mission and values firmly in mind we believe this provides an excellent environment in which committed and motivated people can excel.

With that in mind we are always looking to recruit talented candidates to join us as paralegals and trainees. We see our paralegals and trainees as an investment in the future of our firm and as a result we take their training and career progression very seriously.

We generally seek to recruit hard-working, conscientious and capable graduates to join us as paralegals with a view to securing a training contract following two years’ experience with the firm. A paralegal role could see you join any one of our highly regarded practice areas and will enable you to hit the ground running with high-quality practical work experience and develop the skills required for your future training. The practice area you will join will be driven by the business needs of the firm, together with your own knowledge, existing experience or particular desire to join a certain practice area.

A paralegal role for those individuals who work hard, show commitment to the firm and a desire to progress their career with us could be rewarded with a training contract. We are confident that we can offer excellent training with genuine hands-on experience. Trainees will usually undertake four training seats, spending six months in each. Our Trainees will be supervised by our Training Principal and will also have a supervisor within each training seat, often one of our highly regarded partners, who are regularly featured within The Legal 500 and Chambers directories. All of our partners take a practical, positive approach to nurturing new talent. Trainees also have the benefit of our Training Buddy scheme which enables them to seek help and guidance wherever needed.

We invest time and energy into our future talent and, whilst we generally look to recruit our trainees from our existing paralegals, we are also interested to hear from exceptional candidates who may wish to proceed directly into a training contract. You will need to demonstrate why you stand out from the crowd and what sets your application apart from the rest.

The application process

As part of our continuous growth and development, we are currently accepting applications for paralegals with a view to a training contract and direct-entry trainees.

If you would like to be part of a firm that regards its paralegals and trainees as a vital resource and a key part of our current and future success, we look forward to receiving your application.

Paralegals will need to be graduates holding a minimum 2:1 qualifying law degree or degree in any subject plus the GDL.

Trainees will also need to have completed the LPC or SQE prior to commencement of their training period.
