Background

Dispute Resolution (Personal)

Resolving Personal Disputes

At some point in our lives many of us will end up in a hard-to-resolve dispute with someone – whether it is with an employer, a neighbour, a tenant or someone we are doing business with. Our Dispute Resolution team will help you to resolve that dispute either by negotiation or, if necessary, court action.

We can help with the following:

County Court Judgements (CCJ)

We can help and advise if you have been issued with a County Court Judgement (CCJ) and need further information or guidance or if you wish to dispute a CCJ and make an application to the Court to set the Judgement aside.

Debt recovery

We can assist with the recovery of monies owed to you as a result of theft or breach of contract including loans etc.

Contractual disputes

We can advise you on how to deal with disputes arising from consumer related contracts.

Construction and engineering disputes

We can advise you on disputes relating to the construction of residential property.

Professional negligence

We can advise you if you feel that a professional you have employed has been negligent or if you are a professional yourself against whom an allegation of negligence has been made.

Property litigation

We can act for you in matters concerning applications for orders for sale (TOLATA), possession proceedings, dilapidation claims, agricultural tenancy matters and boundary disputes.

Wills, trusts and inheritance disputes

We can advise and assist you in relation to disputes which may arise following the death of a family member or in relation to the administration of an estate. We can also advise in relation to claims for financial provision from an estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and in relation to the removal of executors/personal representatives and trustees from their positions should issues arise.

Testimonials

"I would like to thank you for the referral to Luke to help with my problem. From the minute I walked anxiously into the building on 5 November 2025 I was made to feel welcome by the reception staff and the member of staff who collected me for my appointment. Luke put me at ease straight away. He listened to my story, asked pertinent questions where appropriate and guided me through the process. Also, reassured me that I was taking the correct steps. He composed an amazing letter for me which set out all the issues I was having a problem with and made sure it was understood by the recipients that they needed to think very carefully about their actions in the future. Consequently I have had no further issues and Luke has not received any correspondence from them either. I would not hesitate to use Hunt & Coombs again for any future issues I may have. Thank you once again."
