Background

Mental Health Issues

70th Anniversary

We understand that dealing with a mental health problem can be difficult and that the law surrounding the issue of mental health can be complicated. We therefore aim to be there to guide you and your loved ones through the legal procedures surrounding your section, leaving you to concentrate on getting better and returning to your life outside of the hospital.

Our specialist solicitors can:

  • Represent you at Hospital Manager’s meetings;
  • Represent you at Mental Health Review Tribunals; and
  • Represent you in appeals from decisions of the Tribunal.

The Mental Health Review Tribunal considers the cases of any person who is detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and free publicly funded legal help is provided for all patient’s representations at these Tribunals.

Testimonials

Rachael Bridges was amazing throughout my case, she clearly understood the law and made clear recommendations for the path forward. She was knowledgeable and able to answer my many questions quickly and efficiently. I can’t recommend Rachael enough for helping me through a very difficult time.
