Background

Staff

Hunt & Coombs Solicitors employ just under 100 staff who are experts in their own roles. Hunt & Coombs takes its responsibilities as an employer seriously and aims to help its staff achieve a healthy lifestyle and a suitable balance between work and the rest of life.

Flexible Working

Hunt & Coombs has negotiated individual working arrangements with many staff – there are people who work limited numbers of days, fewer hours per day, start late or start early etc. We have always done our best to accommodate staff when a different working arrangement better suits their other responsibilities provided it is compatible with the needs of the business.

Health

We have supported many staff sporting activities including the annual Race for Life, a sailing trophy, a netball and basketball team.

Social Club

Hunt & Coombs provide funds for staff to organise events. On previous occasions, staff have gone bowling, greyhound racing, held a family fete, had casino nights, and gone on a trip to Alton Towers.

Community Involvement

Hunt and Coombs support its staff in being involved in local community and charity activities – allowing time to attend meetings and matching staff charitable fundraising.

Free Bar Fridays

Hunt & Coombs provide a free bar and food several times a year on a Friday for staff and their families to socialise and unwind for the weekend.

Work Experience

We take university and sixth form students on work experience placements, offering them an opportunity to supplement their learning with practical experience of legal work. We are one of only a few local firms to assist students with their development in that way.

DAS

An agreement with DAS employment service provides a free counselling line for all staff.

Hunt & Coombs Solicitors is committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination, victimisation and harassment and to promoting the encouragement of equality and diversity in the firm’s policies, practices and procedures.

Our aim is that Hunt & Coombs Solicitors will be truly representative of all sections of society. We want to have a working environment where each employee feels respected and able to make the best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment and where all decisions are based on merit.
