Background

Luke Edwards joined Hunt & Coombs as a Solicitor in March 2023, having spent two years working as a Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution Department of a firm with offices across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

Luke obtained his LLB (Hons) degree at Swansea University and completed the Legal Practice Course at The University of Law in Surrey before undertaking his training contract at a regional firm in the South East in 2018.

Luke has experience acting for, and advising businesses and individuals on a range of civil practice matters, including disputes pertaining to:

  • breach of contract;
  • landlord and tenant; and
  • boundary, neighbour and property ownership disputes.

As well as conducting a number of matters issued in both the County Court and High Court, Luke has experience in effectively representing parties in Alternative Dispute Resolution (notably Mediation).

Luke aims to take a clear and proactive approach to all disputes, whilst ensuring that his clients are kept fully apprised throughout.

Expertise

Luke is experienced in the following:-

  • assisting both residential and commercial landlords and tenants in disputes involving alleged breaches of tenancy agreements or leases. This can include matters involving rent and/or service charge arrears, residential repossession notices and commercial forfeiture.
  • acting for proprietors on disputes involving the determination of a boundary.
  • preparing and lodging applications at the County Court for an Order for Sale where one or more parties wish to realise their interest held in a property and the other proprietor(s) are refusing to either purchase the interest or to sell the property.

Luke is experienced in the following:-

  • preparing and lodging applications at the County Court for the setting aside of a statutory demand served on an incorporated company.
  • assisting businesses on the recovery of monies owed by third parties or ex-shareholders.
  • having shareholders or directors of companies who have been incorrectly named in proceedings removed as a party.
  • advising shareholder(s) of a company who are in dispute with other shareholders on matters pertaining to the company.

Luke is experienced in the following:-

  • assisting individuals and companies in recovering monies owed to them by a third party.
  • defending debt claims brought against individuals and companies.
  • successfully obtaining summary judgment or default judgment without the need for trial.
