Naina is Senior Partner and a CEDR Accredited Mediator.
Naina qualified as a solicitor in 1989 after attending Chester College of Law and completing her LLB (Hons) at the University of East Anglia. She then progressed to Partner at Buckles Solicitors before starting her own solicitors firm, Balfour Law Ltd. in 2007.
In 2014, Naina merged Balfour Law Ltd. with Hunt & Coombs, joining the firm as a Partner.
Naina was elected as Senior Partner at Hunt & Coombs in 2025.
Having been involved in dispute resolution for over 33 years, Naina is a specialist in complex injury and multi-party litigation. Her experience and insight in representing both claimants and defendants (insurers) in employers liability, public liability and motor claims enables her to consider and challenge all perspectives.
She is known to have achieved exceptional settlements engaging in the litigation process and alternative dispute resolution, to include JSM’s and the Court of Appeal Mediation.
Naina is praised for her ability to combine her practical straight talking, no-nonsense style with the utilisation of emotional intelligence in a dispute. Her experience in early evaluation to provide advice on the merits of the issues and relative positions of opposing parties is reflected in her high settlement rate and praise for client care excellence. The Legal 500 publication acknowledges Naina as being “shrewd and tough”.
Recognising that she was using skills that are aligned to ADR and more specifically mediation, Naina formalised that expertise and is now a CEDR Accredited Mediator. She will accept appointments from parties who want to explore the alternative, and often more cost effective, timely route of dispute resolution through mediation.
Naina sits on the Operational Management Board and the Executive Board with combined responsibility for strategic growth and development of the firm.
Interests
In her spare time, Naina enjoys long walks in the countryside and practicing yoga. She also loves spending time with friends and family, especially cooking for loved ones and travelling with her daughter.
