Background

Rebecca Beynon-Phillips joined Hunt & Coombs as a Senior Associate, having been a senior solicitor in commercial litigation at a City of London firm. She qualified as a solicitor in 2007 after completing her LLB (Hons) at The London School of Economics and achieving her LPC at the College of Law in London.

Rebecca has experience in advising a diverse range of clients including corporate clients, limited companies, SME’s and individuals, across a broad range of commercial disputes. She has a wealth of general commercial litigation experience, and has developed expertise in property litigation, professional negligence and debt recovery.

Rebecca is able to advise on:

  • Contractual disputes;
  • Property matters (forfeiture, lease extensions and renewals, dilapidations claims, landlord and tenant issues, boundary disputes and repossessions);
  • Professional negligence claims (including claims against valuers, solicitors and accountants);
  • Debt recovery and insolvency; and
  • Enforcement action.

Rebecca is a pragmatic solicitor who is always keen to explore the practical as well as legal solutions to a client’s dispute. She has experience in the County Courts, High Court and First Tier Tribunal and has achieved numerous settlements for clients, both pre-action and during the litigation process. Rebecca understands that litigation can be a difficult process and works hard to ensure that her clients receive a first-class service.

Rebecca has handled a large number of professional negligence claims against valuers, surveyors, solicitors and financial advisers including one in the High Court which handed down important guidance on the margin of error in valuer negligence claims.

She has dealt with claims against professionals involving overvaluations, fraud rings, complex title issues, sub-sale transactions, non-registration of charges and matters concerning substantial linked property portfolios.
